Commuting via Muni will become even more of an adventure than usual starting this Friday at 7pm. And not in a good way.

For ten straight days, the N, J, and 22 Muni lines will all see major disruptions. It's part of the SFMTA's ongoing project to replace tracks and upgrade curbs and boarding areas at the busy intersection of Church and Duboce. So, from Friday night until the morning of Monday June 4th, here's what you can expect: The N Judah will be completely shut down, with substitute bus service in place. The J Church will operate only between Balboa Park and Church & Market. The 22 Fillmore bus will be rerouted all the way to Divisadero, with a separate shuttle bus taking its place along the usual route up Fillmore (although even that will be rerouted around Church and Duboce). Some traffic and bike lanes will be closed, including a good chunk of the Wiggle. Here's a map showing some of the planned detours: One more thing: Muni says their construction crews will be "working around the clock" during the shutdown. So basically, if you live near that intersection, you might want to skip town for an extended Memorial Day weekend. Again, all of this excitement is scheduled to last until 5am on June 4th. Consider yourself warned.
