The Golden Gate Bridge turns 75 this weekend. There are a lot of parties taking place to help celebrate our International Orange bridge of mystery. Let's talk about what's going on here this weekend too.
HIP HOP & PING PONG | Rickshaw Stop Remember when we taught you about Berlin-Style Ping Pong? Well, if you were nervous about the rules the first time, now's your chance to give it a shot. Head to the Rickshaw Stop tonight from 8pm-1am. DJ's Laser Tad and King Friday will be playing chill 90s hip hop to set the mood. As long as we don't go chasing Waterfalls, we're totally in. [155 Fell] A RAISIN IN THE SUN | African American Art & Culture Complex Many of you have read this story about three generations of a black family in the south side of Chicago. Now's your chance to see it acted out close by. The African American Art & Culture Complex is hosting A Raisin in the Sun this weekend at their center. Directed by African-American Shakespeare Company Artistic Director L. Peter Callender, you can see the play on either Saturday @ 8pm or Sunday @ 3pm. Tickets can be purchased online through Brown Paper Tickets. [762 Fulton] 75TH BIRTHDAY | Golden Gate Bridge It's not often we tell you to leave the 'hood for other events, but this is kind of a big deal. There's a huge festival taking place on Sunday for the Golden Gate Bridge's 75th Anniversary. Whether it's an Artists' Exhibition, vintage car show, display of sustainable technology, or a fireworks show at 9:30pm, you'll want to make it over yonder for this.
