How long does a business have to be in operation before it can throw itself a launch party? A week? A month?
In Vinyl's case, how about a year and a half?
That's how long ago the wine bar became a nightly fixture at Cafe Divis (359 Divisadero). Now, with the Vinyl crew taking over daytime operations at the cafe as well, (and rebranding the whole shebang as "Vinyl"), they figured a party is long overdue. This week, Vinyl celebrates its "Better Late Than Never Grand Opening" with a whole host of drinkable freebies. All week long (today through Sunday), the cafe will be giving away free cups of Blue Bottle Coffee. And Friday night, June 1, they'll be hosting an official grand opening party, doling out free pints of Napa Smith Pilsner all night (or until they run out), plus offering all glasses of wine for $6. So get yourself over to the corner of Oak and Divis this week and officially welcome Vinyl to the neighborhood -- and pick yourself up a free beverage while you're at it. Better late than never, indeed!
