Lower Haight Leftovers: 5/4 Edition
Happy Cuatro de Mayo, amigos! To help make your weekend extra picante, we've got free comic books, a couple of videos, chicken salad on a biscuit and more. Ready?

Tonight, D-Structure hosts an opening for Hot Noise, new works by artist Tyler Wintermute. Wintermute's illustrations are described as a combination of "electric colors, alluring chaos, and beautiful lampoon cartoons." Tonight's show, which will also feature drinks and tunes from DJ Ollie, runs from 8pm to 11:30pm. The exhibit runs through May 28th.
Tomorrow (Saturday) is Free Comic Book Day across the land. Here in the neighborhood, Comix Experience (305 Divisadero) will be participating, although we're not sure exactly what they'll be giving away. The shop is open from 11am to 7pm.
SF Weekly food writer Jonathan Kauffman has been counting down his top 50 favorite things to eat and drink in San Francisco. Coming in at number 11 this week? The Chicken Salad Biscuit from Wing Wings.
On another SF Weekly list, Jeremy Fish's pink bunny at the corner of Haight and Laguna was named the #3 best public sculpture in San Francisco.
Have you ever wondered about the green mansion at the northwest corner of Alamo Square? It's called the William Westerfield House, and over the years it has hosted Manson family members, czarist Russians, jazz musicians, the Grateful Dead, and countless others. Now, a documentary called House of Legends is in the works to tell the tale of this storied place. Here's the teaser trailer: The group behind the film is in the process of raising money for its production, and will be holding a fundraising party at the mansion this summer. Stay tuned.
Want to travel the country and make people happy everywhere you go? Maybe you should apply to become the driver of Carl, the Three Twins Ice Cream truck.
Finally, a pro-Wiggle PSA hit the web this week, and rather than describe it, we'll just go ahead and present it without comment.
That's all we've got this week. What did we miss? tips [at] haighteration {{dot}} com.
