Tomorrow night, from 7pm to 10pm, the Westerfield (1198 Fulton Street) will be the site of a fundraising party to benefit Neighbors Developing Divisadero, and you're invited. N. D. Divis is a non-profit aiming to purchase and transform the dilapidated Harding Theater at 616 Divisadero. As we detailed earlier this year, the Harding was built in 1926, shuttered around 2003, and has been caught up in condo-conversion planning and legal tussling ever since. The Harding was put on the market for $3.6 million, though the listing has recently disappeared, for reasons unknown. Regardless, N. D. Divis is moving full steam ahead with fundraising efforts to purchase the Harding. They aim to turn it into the "Harding Hive," which they envision as "a multi-use incubator and showcase venue for creativity, entrepreneurship, civic engagement, community building, and sustainability. The Harding Hive will be a place of learning, doing, creating, and enjoying in the center of the city and the heart of Divisadero." Tomorrow night's event is the kickoff for the Harding Hive campaign. There'll be food, music, comedy, a DJ set, and Divisadero designers and stylists on hand for extra local flavor. Your $20 advance ticket gets you VIP access plus three $3 tokens to spend on food, drinks, activities, and locally-designed tshirts and posters.
