In what feels like a week of nonstop food announcements, we have our last one (we promise!) but we think you'll want to check it out. Michelle Polzine, the pastry chef at Range, will be opening up a Danube-region themed pastry palace called Twentieth Century Cafe in early 2013. According to Inside Scoop SF, there will be a mix of both sweet and savory options. They report that "there will be both savory and sweet components to the cafe... Polzine says she loves the ingredients found in Viennoiseries and the region’s pastries, like apricots, poppyseeds and so on." In addition, she's going to have a consulting savory chef. Peter Temkin (Show Dogs) will help out with items like pastrami and Polish dogs. This historic building from the 1910s needs a complete makeover so you'll have to wait until next year before tasting any Viennese baked goods.
