We've had a lot of restaurants open up in the past few months, so how about we change things up and talk about a bar.

A liquor license has been obtained for a new bar called Fig & Thistle. Located at 313 Ivy, it will be a few doors down from the old Crepe place on the corner and will face the new condos that are just starting to be built.

We learned from EaterSF that former Alembic hostess, Angel Davis, is the mastermind behind this new project. Partnering with Nguey Lay, the two will transform a 500 ft² space into a beer and wine haven. It sounds like the place might be too small for tons of kegs, so they're looking into a wide variety of bottled beers from Northern California. Wine will come from local and international sources. They'll have a few snacks to nosh on too. And they're playing around with the idea of a beer ice cream float. Save your rooting for the 49ers because this drink/desert sounds like a dream come true. An opening date hasn't been set, but we'll keep you updated on any major announcements.
