Lower Haight Leftovers: 7/6 Edition
Lots of weekend parties, buzz for some local hotspots, and an orphaned chinchilla? It's gotta be leftovers. Let's get into it.

Tonight, Vinyl (359 Divis) hosts "Fuzztastique," a new semi-monthly dance party event. From 7pm to midnight, dance along to soul, garage and psychedelic funk music. Plus, $2 craft draft beer, and all wine $7 a glass, all night long.
Also tonight, D-Structure presents the opening of "On the Wall", a collection of poster works and canvas art from Whatpaste Art Collective. Peruse the latest creations from more than a dozen artists while sipping on adult beverages and listening to DJ-spun tunes. That's 8pm to 11:30pm at D-Structure, 520 Haight.
Then, head to Nickies for First Fridays with DJs Dion Decibels and The Whooligan. 10pm to 2am, no cover.
On Sunday, don't forget it's the Second Sundays block party on the 400 block of Haight Street. There'll be art, local vendors, ice cream, and more. Noon to 4pm.
And definitely don't forget that all weekend long, the N and J Muni lines will be shut down. Church Street between Duboce and Market will be a pretty messy scene. If you're driving, try to avoid it.
This week, the Chronicle released its list of the Bay Area's Top 100 Bars. Locals making the list include Churchill, Nopa, Toronado, and Uva Enoteca.
Also this week, Eater updated its compilation of the 38 Essential San Francisco Restaurants. Congrats to the Lower Haight's own Maven for making the cut.
Finally, did you lose a chinchilla? Apparently one of the little South American critters has made itself at home in a Page Street backyard between Pierce and Steiner. Check the lowerhaight.org Google Group for details.
That's all we've got. Surely we missed something though. tips [at] haighteration {{dot}} com.
