N Judah, J Church to Shut Down This Weekend
Brace yourself for a fun weekend, riders of public transit.

From 7pm tomorrow (Friday) to 5am Monday, the entire N Judah line and much of the J Church will be shut down, as part of the Church and Duboce Track and Street Improvement Project. This weekend's closures are due to:
  • Rail replacement on Church between Reservoir and 14th Streets
  • Reconstruction of the outbound boarding island on Church at 14th Street
  • Replacement of tracks at Carl Street (thus the N Judah shutdown)
The J Church will be shut down from Market Street to Embarcadero, while bus service will replace the N Judah. Also, Church Street will be closed to traffic between Reservoir and 14th Streets all weekend, so if you want to drive into the Safeway parking lot, you'll have to do so from Market Street. The Wiggle, meanwhile, will remain open during construction. For full details, click here. And the excitement doesn't end Monday morning -- far from it, in fact. The shutdowns will repeat every other weekend, from now through mid-August. Good times.
