throgers comes this nicely framed photo of the
Cello Street Quartet playing outside the whimsically decorated storefront of Cliff's Variety Store in the Castro.
The Cello Street Quartet features 4 fantastic cellists: Gretchen Claassen, Matthew Linaman (a very handsome, personable gentlemen I had the pleasure of meeting at Orphan Andy's one day), Andres Vera, and the quartet's main music arranger, Adam Young. Their melodic musical arrangements range from classical pieces to modern works such as songs by Muse, Cyndi Lauper, Eurythmics, Lady Gaga and Queen.
When they're not in the Castro on a Friday or Saturday night playing tunes for the stumbly masses they can be found at one of the underground MUNI/BART stations downtown or other random street corners.
If you have the chance to stop and listen, I highly recommend doing so for at least one piece. Feel free to throw them a few bucks, too or
follow them on Facebook.
