Tonight's the time for nerds to unite.
Nerd Nite SF is a group that organizes "drunkademics" as a way for people to learn about nerdy topics, booze it up and meet others interested in the same things. This month's event takes place this evening at the Rickshaw Stop (155 Fell) at 8pm (but doors open at 7). Each Nerd Nite is composed of a few different presentations. The title for the August edition is "Nerd Nite SF #27: Fish Speciation, Molyjam, and Stellar Evolution." The 3 topics/lessons/geek-out moments include: 1) Smells Like Fish Species: Evolution in the Marine Realm by Moises Bernal 2) Molyjam: How a Twitter Joke Can Save Video Games by Anna Kipnis 3) Stellar Evolution and Your iPhone by Daniel Kocevski For more detailed descriptions, check out the event's website. Tickets cost $8 and can be paid at the door or in advance. Have a geeky time.
