Palo Alto Based SliderBar Cafe Replacing Criolla Kitchen / Baghdad Cafe
By Roy - Published on August 13, 2012.
Formerly Criolla Kitchen and Bagdad Cafe, the building at 16th and Market is getting a new restaurant called SliderBar Cafe. I walked by it today and it looks like construction is already starting which is good, because it's been a vacant eyesore since March inviting vandals to break a few windows at one point. The restaurant will feature slider burgers that look pretty amazing. In addition to a couple of vegetarian friendly sliders, they will be featuring a Mediterranean style slider with lamb (YUM!) and a serrano chili slider with lime chicken (¡OLÉ!). Check out their full menu here. No official date has been set for opening, though since construction has begun, I don't doubt we'll see it open within the next month or so. Feel free to check out the video (and mute the audio, geesh) below of their Palo Alto location to get a sense of what the offerings and appearance of the Castro location might look like.
The 4 Star Theater has been closed for nearly three whole years, but the scrappy little theater at Clement Street and 23rd Avenue will rise again this week, with movies plus pizza and bagels provided by nearby neighbor The Laundromat.
