Parking On Steiner This Week? Not So Fast...
Starting tomorrow, a paving project on Steiner Street will monopolize parking spots over a several-block stretch of the Lower Haight.

From 7am to 6pm Wednesday (tomorrow) through Friday, parking will be banned on both sides of Steiner from Oak Street to halfway between Haight and Page. Additional spots will be taken up on Page on both sides of the intersection with Steiner. Reader Ron G. tells us he spoke with Esquivel Grading and Paving, the company listed on the No Parking signs, and was told the work being done is a repaving of Steiner between Oak and Page. Presumably that means that some, if not all, of the street will also be closed to traffic. So, long story short: if you have a car -- or bike, for that matter -- best to avoid Steiner during business hours for the rest of the week.
