Update on Replacement for Frjtz
When's our new neighbor moving in?

We reported back in early April that Frjtz was closing its doors after being a part of the Hayes Valley community for 12 years. What's replacing it? A drinking & eating establishment called Noir. We knew Brian Cassanego would be opening a jazz era restaurant/bar, but we weren't sure of many details. Until now. EaterSF informs us that Noir is hoping to open in late September or early October. They report that both the menu and decor will match the 1940s theme and will feature food like "popcorn with porcini dust, sea salt and parmesan; bacon-studded housemade hot dogs topped with bonito flakes, and special fried chicken nights." Noir will also have 60 wines on their list including six on tap. With an offering of 100 seats throughout a few rooms, there will be plenty of room for you to stop by in a few months when it finally opens.
