Because you need a reason to go "awwwwwww" on a chilly Friday morning.

The San Francisco SPCA is bringing Dogma back to Hayes Valley for a second year. Billed as "the second annual festival of petcentricity," Dogma celebrates all things pets. And owners. And it takes place this Sunday from 12-4pm. So what exactly happens at a fair sponsored by the San Francisco SPCA, 7x7, and the SF Parks Alliance? Here's a small sample taken from their website: -Meet Dr. Rob West, DVM of the world-class San Francisco SPCA Veterinary Hospital, offering advice on how to get your pet back in balance with the help of acupuncture -Meet your friends and neighbors and sign up for the City’s only dog –sitting co-op: City Dog Share! -Say hello to our friends from Pet Food Express and find out how they support SF’s rescues as well as the health of your pet -Become a Zipster! Meet our dog-friendly friends at Zipcar. Need a free cat carrier for your next zip trip to the vet? Just ask! In addition, you can adopt a pet right there at the festival. Adopted animals will be coming from places like the SPCA (free from 12-4pm), SF Animal Care and Control, SaveABunny, MickaCoo Pigeon & Dove Rescue, and several others. And if you think your pet has mad skills, let them compete in the talent show. Winners will receive prizes from Timbuk2, Zipcar, Wag Hotels, Chronicle Books and several other local vendors. If that hasn't convinced you to stop by, we're pretty sure the pictures from last year's event will do the trick.
