We don't usually report on missing pets on Haighteration, because (sadly) there are way too many of 'em out there. But this particular kitty sounds like it could really use a break.
Reader Alberto Hernandez writes us with the tale of his beloved cat, which escaped from his apartment on the 400 block of Haight Street around 1:30pm today. The one-eyed, limping black cat -- appropriately named "Pirate Kitty" -- knocked out the screen of one of Alberto's third-story apartment windows and fled. Alberto tells us Pirate Kitty has no collar or tags, but apparently responds to "kitty." If you spot Pirate Kitty, shoot Alberto an email at ahernandez [at] fantasystudios {{dot}} com. And if this furry half-blind gangsta does turn up, we'll be sure to update this story with the happy ending. (Assuming it's happy, that is. Fingers crossed...) Update 7:45pm: Good news! Alberto writes to tell us that, "two back yards and quite a scare later," Pirate Kitty is safely back at home. So, a happy ending after all.
