Today is the first day of Oktoberfest (Sept 22 - Oct 7) and Hayes Valley is joining the Bavarian party. Oktoberfest is considered one of the largest festivals in the world. It's been taking place in Germany since 1810, making this year's celebration the 202nd of its kind. And who better to get things started than our very own Suppenküche and Biergarten? Suppenküche opens its doors at 12pm today and the Biergarten will do the same at 3pm. Suppenküche has posted a new Oktoberfestbier list that describes their specials. The usual suspects are all there, plus 11 new beers on tap and 2 that come in bottles. We're thinking the lines will be aplenty at both, so try to arrive early if you can. Happy first day of fall!
