We've got back-to-back events tonight for all you civic-minded readers out there.
Up first is a public safety meeting at Bean There, hosted by Supervisors Christina Olague and Scott Wiener. The meeting is being planned in response to recent crimes in the Lower Haight / Hayes Valley / Alamo Square areas. Along with the Supes, reps from SF SAFE and our local SFPD captains will be in attendance. That's 6pm at Bean There, at the corner of Waller and Steiner. Then, hurry over to Rasselas Jazz Club (1534 Fillmore) for the latest D5 Debate. All eight candidates vying for the title of District 5 Supervisor are expected to participate. Tonight's debate will focus primarily on small business issues, as it's co-hosted by the Divisadero Merchants Association and NOPA+. Doors open at 7pm and the debate starts at 7:30pm -- and if you can't make it, you might just be able to listen to an online stream here. So there you go. Get informed, get involved, and get home by 9. Enjoy.
