Take advantage of a great opportunity to visit the one of a kind,
San Francisco GLBT History Museum today located in the heart of the Castro at 4127 18th Street. It is a rare beast in the world of museums and history as one of the few establishments in the world to collect, catalog and display GLBT historical items giving context to our lives and struggles throughout time. Besides the excellent permanent collection in the Main Room of our shared past called, 'Our Vast Queer Past', the current exhibition is a fascinating history of The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. The nuns began their humorous political reign here in The Castro and have spread like a bad habit. This exhibit examines the role they've played locally, nationally and internationally in the struggle for equality for GLBT people.
