Recap of Dogma in Hayes Valley
Yesterday, the 2nd Annual Dogma SPCA Event brought out pets, pet lovers and local pet services to celebrate underneath the sunny skies at Patricia's Green.

The event, which was sponsored by SF SPCA, 7x7, and the SF Parks Alliance, showcased a slew of local dog-friendly services. Those included City Dog Share, Happy Hounds Massage, Mijo & Bambi and Wildebeest (pictured below).
Plenty of spectators came out to see the parade of canines -- and to enjoy our warm, cloudless descent into October. Aside from the weather, and the sheer number of pooches, the biggest draw of the day was the talent show. Dogs and owners alike gathered together in the Green to show off their various tricks.
The competition was close -- so much so, in fact, that a tiebreaker match was necessary to determine first place. Sadly, there could only be one champion for the day, and that champion was Biscuit. He beat out his competitor by kicking tennis balls into a basket with his hind legs and weaving through his owner's arms. Biscuit clearly won over the hearts of the crowd and the judges with his pure, unadulterated adorableness.
Meanwhile, Fiona's talents were also impressive, like her ability to fetch a tissue for her owner at a simple "a-choo!"
She even tickled the ivories a bit, to the delight of the crowd.
Dogma served as more than just a canine showcase. It also raised awareness of pet adoption -- not just of dogs, but of cats and birds as well.
All in all, Dogma was good fun for pets and pet lovers alike, all for a worthy cause. Not a bad way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon in Hayes Valley.
