Are you good at gorging, or gorgeous at gourding? Either way, there's a good chance your fingers are going to turn orange tonight.

What are we talking about? Two local contests, that's what. First up, it's the first-ever Wing Wings Eating Contest down at Lucky 13 (2140 Market). Come watch your fellow chicken wing enthusiasts gobble down some hella hella hot wings in pursuit of glory, and possible tastebud annihilation. It's only $5 at the door (though for $10 they'll throw in an order of wings), and proceeds benefit the Western Addition Beacon Center. The fun starts at 6pm tonight at Lucky 13. Then at 8pm TOMORROW at 8pm, newish Fillmore Street event space The Center hosts a Pumpkin Carving Contest and movie screening. Slice and dice your creation while watching a screening of Shaun of the Dead and eating pumpkin pie and popcorn -- all for a small donation. Then when the movie's over, the winning gourd will be crowned. That's 8pm to 11pm at The Center, 548 Fillmore (between Oak and Fell). Not bad for a Tuesday night! Update 9am: Well, don't we have pumpkin all over our face. Turns out the event at The Center is tomorrow (Wednesday) night, not tonight. This is what happens when you spend too long hunting Flickr for a photo of a chicken eating a pumpkin. Sorry for the confusion -- but now you can easily go to both events! You're welcome!
