Hurricane Sandy Relief Party at Peacock Lounge Friday Night
You might be wondering how you can help those affected by Hurricane/superstorm Sandy, which caused widespread devastation on the east coast nearly three weeks ago. Well, tomorrow night you can make a difference right here in the Lower Haight.

From 9pm to 1:30am, it's a hurricane relief fundraiser and dance party at the Peacock Lounge (552 Haight). There'll be two DJs, a silent auction of items donated by local vendors, and a cash bar. The event also doubles as a 30th birthday party for organizer and Lower Haighter Missy Bohach. As Missy puts it:
"Myself and my partner are originally from New York and have a lot of family and friends still there. I wanted to do something to help and I realized that we live in a great neighborhood with great people, so I thought I should get everyone together."
All donations at the door will go to the Red Cross, while silent auction proceeds will benefit a family Missy knows whose home was lost in the storm. So think globally and dance locally -- a great way to spend a Friday night in the neighborhood. Spread the word.
