Lower Haight Getting Two New Thai Restaurants
If at first you don't succeed, Thai, Thai again? That might be the motto of two Thai restaurants that will soon be replacing two other Thai restaurants in the Lower Haight.

First up, it's Terrific Thai, pictured above, at 494 Haight Street. That's the former home of Chilli Cha Cha, which closed in October. Work is well underway on the interior of the space, and it's aiming to open later this month.
Meanwhile, over at 312 Divisadero, some changes are afoot at Thai Place II.
New owners are planning to revamp the restaurant's menu. Specifically they'll be adjusting prices and portions, an employee told us -- though we don't know in what direction(s). Also, the restaurant will be renamed, to Sa-Beang Thai.
This is all slated to happen around January 1st. So, two Thai restaurants disappear, two other Thai restaurants emerge, and our net Thai restaurant total remains unchanged. Basically things are more or less Thai'ed.
