Banksy Rat Turns Up in Miamiflickr/rocor
Ever wonder what happened to the Banksy rat that used to live on the side of the Red Vic? The folks down at Haighteration tipped us off that the rat has turned up in Miami.

So if you've been here a few years, you might remember that there used to be a giant Banksy rat stenciled on the side of the Red Vic Hotel back in 2010. It was visible from the corner of Haight and Belvedere, looking South. The SF Bay Guardian reports that it was spotted at a Street Art Fair in Miami, on loan from a gallery in Southampton, NY. The SFBG also reports that Red Vic owner Sami Sunchild "wouldn't comment when I called her to ask, besides to decry the art as vandalism on her property." Admit it: having Banksy in our 'hood was pretty cool. All the more reason to vote for the Upper Haight in Curbed's Dogpatch vs. Upper Haight contest! We're getting our asses kicked, so get in there and VOTE, because DEMOCRACY. Oh, and speaking of voting, if you haven't voted for your favorite Holiday windows yet, get thee to the comments section, because we'll announce the winner on Friday.
