It's the last night of the year -- here are some ways to ring it out in style in the Lower Haight.
While we're pretty sure every bar in the neighborhood will be open, a few are having special events for the big night. Nickies will be hosting a New Year Eve party tonight, with a DJ, countdown, and champagne toast at midnight. No cover. The action kicks off at 4pm (when the new year dawns in Ireland), followed by happy hour, and things snowball from there. Mad Dog in the Fog will also be having a no-cover party, with a daytime party until 8pm, plus DJs from 10pm to close, drink specials, a free champagne toast, jello shots and party favors. Maven has to close at midnight, so they're kicking things off a little early. Swing by for a countdown and champagne toast at 9pm (that's midnight on the east coast), and last call at 10pm. Danny Coyle's will be ringing in the Irish new year at 4pm with a complimentary champagne toast, a balloon drop, and party favors. And last but not least, Muni will be free from 8pm tonight until 6am tomorrow, so you can get your boozy self to and from all this action safely and inexpensively.
