Next Saturday, December 15th, the streets of San Francisco will be flooded with thousands of reveling Santas. But in a break with tradition, this year the Santas will not start the day by amassing at Civic Center.

Instead, they'll congregate somewhere downtown, at a location to be announced next Thursday. So far, no explanation has been offered for the switch. The SF version of SantaCon, originally called Santarchy, began in 1994. It has since evolved into a giant citywide costumed bar crawl.
