With a new year just hours away, we can't help but wonder what 2013 has in store for our neighborhood. Fortunately, there are a few predictions we can make pretty safely.

Schulzie's Bread Pudding will open at 364 Hayes Street. They've been waiting for final sign-offs from the city, which should come any day now. The neighborhood will get a new wine bar, when Noir opens at 581 Hayes in mid/late January. We hear lots of music in our future. That's because the SFJAZZ Center will open at Fell and Franklin on January 21st. Your wardrobe will get another option when Aether Apparel opens a location at the Proxy Project. "Future's Past," the artwork at the heart of Patricia's Green, will come down on May 1st, 2013. What might take its place is still a mystery. At some point, a bar called Fig & Thistle will open at 333 Ivy, hopefully. Chef Aaron London of Ubuntu in Napa will be opening a restaurant somewhere in Hayes Valley, possibly this year. Our crystal ball is quite cloudy on that one. Construction will continue on various development projects around the neighborhood. Notably, 2001 Market (site of a future Whole Foods) is slated to be completed in the Fall, and units at the residential property being built at the corner of Grove and Ivy are expected to go on sale in February/March. It's sure to be an exciting 2013 ahead here in Hayes Valley. Thanks for a great 2012 -- we'll see you in the new year!
