Hayes Valley, we love you.
You're right down the hill from us, we pass through you on Muni, and heck, some of our readers even live in you.
Regardless, today we intend to crush you.
It's the final day of voting in the Curbed Cup, that largely arbitrary, commenter-infuriating annual tournament to crown San Francisco's neighborhood of the year. Two years ago, we lost by a single vote to Potrero Hill. Last year, we defeated Russian Hill by a healthy margin. And this year, after several days of voting, we've apparently fallen slightly behind Hayes Valley. And voting ends today at noon. So, your job this morning is to vote for the Lower Haight, and make sure we successfully defend our title. Your reward will be bragging rights, and very little else. And here's a friendly wager for the Hayeswire crew: If Hayes Valley wins, we'll treat you to the smoothie of your choice at Cafe International. If the Lower Haight wins, dinner at Rich Table is on you. Sound good? See you at Rich Table. Update 12:15pm: We won.
