We've got a few last-minute details about the new SFJAZZ Center, which officially opens tomorrow morning at Fell and Franklin.
This past week, local media outlets got an early glimpse inside the Center. Curbed has a nice set of photos and details of the space itself. Meanwhile, the Center's restaurant by the Slanted Door's Charles Phan now has a name, according to Eater: "South at SFJAZZ." The surprisingly Southern menu has items like mufalletta sandwiches, alligator, and cracklin' cornbread. While some sites have reported that the restaurant will open on Monday, the SFJAZZ Center tells us that that's not the case. (Rest assured, we'll keep an eye on it.) Finally, remember how we told you about tomorrow's free opening day tours? Well, we're afraid they're now all sold out, as are Wednesday's opening night gala (hosted by Bill Cosby!), and at least two other opening week concerts. But with events already scheduled through June, you'll have plenty of chances to check out this new San Francisco institution for yourself. Welcome to the neighborhood, SFJAZZ!
