It's Friday, and if you're like us, your brain is already switching to weekend mode. Here are some happenings in Hayes Valley to help make your weekend a great one.
Tonight, True Sake hosts a sake-tasting party. For just $1, you can sample unpasteurized sake from Watari Bune and Seikyo Omachi. You'll also get 10% off your in-store purchase of any of the sakes you sample. This happens tonight from 5pm to 7pm at True Sake (560 Hayes). After your sake, or perhaps before it, hop a few doors down and check out the new art installation at Cisco Home (580 Hayes). The group exhibit contains 20 paintings, photographs, and sculptures by various Bay Area artists. The show, which is curated by a new local startup called Artify It, will be viewable at Cisco Home daily from 10am to 6pm, through June 7th. If culture's what you're after, consider snagging tickets to the SF Ballet's encore production of Onegin, which began last night at the War Memorial Opera House and runs through Thursday. There are four shows this weekend, with tickets starting at just $20. So you really have no excuse. Finally, on Sunday, Hayes Valley Farm will be giving away soil, as has been a regular practice at the farm over the years. From 12pm to 5pm, swing by 450 Laguna and take some soil "by the truckload, bag, or bucket!" If you know of other fun happenings in Hayes Valley this weekend, let us know!
