Is Divisadero Getting Another Cafe?

Is Divisadero Getting Another Cafe?
Tired of hearing about new business activity along the red-white- magma-hot Divisadero corridor? Well then you best be putting this blog down right now, weary reader.

We don't have much info on this one, so we're throwing this little nugget out there for you to chew on. But yesterday, reader John D. tipped us to some plywood going up at 607 Divisadero, just north of Hayes Street between Bean Bag Cafe and Health Haven. So we did some digging. 607 Divisadero was most recently home to a medical cannabis dispensary, while the adjacent space (605 Divis) housed a nail salon called Blossom. The spaces have been unoccupied for years, but in May of 2012 a permit was filed with the Department of Building Inspection to convert the "retail space and hair salon" into "retail coffee." Upgrades included adding a cooler and sinks, and making the space A.D.A. compliant. A revision to the application filed in September reiterates the planned "cafe use" of the space. So, who's planning on moving in? We don't know yet. We're trying to track down the owner in the hopes of shedding some light on this one. In the meantime, if anybody out there has a tip, you know what to do. tips [at] haighteration {{dot}} com.
