Reader Doug H. sent in these dramatic photos last night from the scene at Hayes and Divisadero, where a fire hydrant was toppled after two cars collided, sending water gushing to incredible heights.
As Doug put it:
As Doug put it:
"Car crash resulting in one of the cars taking out the hydrant at Divis and Hayes. Immediately in front of Rare Device. Drivers were fine. One pedestrian injured, not sure how serious."SFist reports that around 11:50pm, a driver hit the fire hydrant just outside of Rare Device at 600 Divisadero. A second vehicle, a black town car, was "involved in the incident as well." One pedestrian was injured (though apparently not seriously), and both drivers were OK. Meanwhile, a five-story-high geyser spewed from the hydrant for a solid 40 minutes before fire crews were able to get it under control, according to SFist. Never a dull moment on Divisadero these days! Update 1:30pm: Rare Device's Giselle Gyalzen tells us the shop did suffer some water damage, and will be closed for at least a day to clean up.
