We get lots of email here at Haighteration from readers with questions, story ideas, and news items for our perusal. Here are a few recent nuggets we've received.
Megan T., an employee of Revolver, tells us she was the victim of a shoplifter yesterday afternoon. "The thief asked me for a pair of shoes and when I bent down to look for them she snatched my phone from behind the counter." The store's surveillance camera caught footage of the thief: Megan tells us she called the police, who were very helpful. Still, "I'm not going to see that phone again," she predicts. If you recognize this shoplifter, call the SFPD Northern Station tip line at (415) 885-5187.
Reader Josh K. was passing through Duboce Triangle this weekend and spotted a poster advertising a "Zombie Christ Haunted House" for Easter, at the old Tower Records space at Noe and Market next to Cafe Flore: It's billed as a "community-created theatrical spectacle featuring some of your favorite queer (and non-queer) performers and artists from around the Bay." The house will operate from 9pm to midnight this Friday and Saturday, and there will be a dance party from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday. This all acts as a fundraiser for the SF Therapy Collective, Open House, and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. Admission is $10-20.
Finally, Reader Nicole M. sent in this photo of a new mural that went up on the northeast corner of Divisadero and McAllister: According to Nicole, "a crew of 4-5 people... cranked it out in a day." She appreciates that the new mural is "in keeping with the old-school flavor of a neighborhood that is rapidly gentrifying, and a joy to behold."
As always, if you have a hot tip -- or even a lukewarm one -- that you'd like to share, send it to us at tips [at] haighteration {{dot}} com.
