
Several readers have asked about the mailbox at Haight and Fillmore (pictured above), which disappeared a few days ago.
So, we investigated.

"The mail box was damaged and had to be removed, however good news, as soon as a replacement is ready, it will be reinstalled. In the meantime, the Postal Service apologizes for any inconvenience."No word on exactly how the mailbox got damaged, but good to hear that it will be replaced. Until then, if you need a mailbox, there's one at the corner of Haight and Scott. We're going to go ahead and declare this mystery solved!
