It's Record Store Day in the Lower Haight

It's Record Store Day in the Lower Haight
It's the 6th annual international Record Store Day, that celebration of independent vinyl vendors around the globe. Luckily, we have no fewer than four standout shops right here in the Lower Haight.

Groove Merchant Records (687 Haight) will be opening at 10:30am, and Cool Chris has "stockpiled some heavy duty records." Plus, there will be beer. The shop is open until 7pm, but swing by on the early side for the best selection. Rooky Ricardo's (448 Haight) will be offering 45s for $1 each. That's ONE DOLLAR each. All day -- as in noon to 6pm. Black Pancake Records (597 Haight) will be having a 20% off sale, and plenty of special records just for Record Store Day. They're open from 11am to 7pm. Finally, Jack's Record Cellar (254 Scott) will... well, we're not exactly sure. But it's open on Saturday afternoons, so swing by Scott and Page to find out. You can never have enough music, in our opinion, so do your turntable a favor and stock up at all four of these local institutions today.
