Queer, 60 or Over? The SF LGBT Aging Policy Task Force Needs You!LGBTATF Advert
Together for more than 50 yearsThe San Francisco LGBT Aging Policy Task Force (LGBTAPTF), launched in October of 2012, has put out the call for our honored elders living within the confines of the City and the Castro who identify as LGBT or who sleeps with same-sex/gender partners (or has slept with) to take part in a ground breaking survey. LGBTAPTF (that's a mouthful of an acronym isn't it) along  with the Institute for Multi-generational Health at the University of Washington are conducting a study to better understand health and the aging process within the San Francisco LGBT community. LGBTATF AdvertThe City of SF estimates there are already nearly 25,000 LGBT Elders living within the City and as all the baby boomers reach retirement age and beyond that number is going to continue to grow. These members of the LGBT community represent the trail blazers of the movement who led the battle for our current status in society. As this is the first time our community has faced such a large and socially aware, politically savvy and health-minded Elder population its time the City-and the world-finds out what best suits their particular needs and experiences. The questionnaire is easy. It generally takes 15-20 minutes to complete. Participants need not respond to every question if they so choose. All questionnaires are anonymous and each persons answers will not be associated with their name, email or mailing address. Extra added incentive: five participants will be chosen randomly to receive a $100 dollar gift certificate from Macy's. All people taking part in the survey will be eligible for the gift certificate drawing whether you complete the questionnaire or not. Cool? Click the here to get started.
