Free Macarons At La Boulange Today

Free Macarons At La Boulange Today
There appears to be some sweet confusion.

Apparently, today is National Macaroon Day. That's macaroon with two "o"s -- the hefty coconut kind. Hayes Valley, on the other hand, is filled with the delicate cookies known as macarons -- so many, in fact, that we had to round them up in a story back in October. Macaron Day was coined by renowned French macaron master Pierre Hermé in 2010, and occurs every year in March. OK, now that we've gotten that out of the way, La Boulange is going rogue and celebrating Macaron Day today. Starting at 2:30pm, each La Boulange location (including our own in Hayes Valley) will be giving away 100 free macarons -- first come, first served. No matter what you call them, they're delicious -- so get there early and enjoy!
