Yesterday afternoon, we heard from Black Pancake's Manny Alferez regarding the closing of the shop:
"So i decided to close BPR since i didnt have time to put in to it, what i really wanted it to be. And it seemed to be to up and down, i did it for eight years and it was time to move on. We will move the Wild Feather the store right next to it. in to the space. So art and fashion will still be in the Lower Haight. thanks for all the support the hood has given us."Also yesterday, we received an email from the USPS's James Wigdel, our point of contact on the Haight and Fillmore mailbox which had been missing since March. James wrote us with good news:
"I am happy to report that the mail box has been replaced and is on the street in operation."We checked for ourselves, and sure enough, there it is: So, we consider these two cases closed.
