Fig & Thistle Open For Business
Things have been moving and shaking all week over at 313 Ivy Street, just west of Gough. Fig & Thistle, which opened yesterday, is an adorably classy watering hole tucked away in one of Hayes Valley's sweetest alleyways.

With a magnificent redwood bar, natural light, and warm incandescent bulbs after dark, Angel Davis's brainchild is welcoming one and all from 3pm to 11pm Sunday through Thursday, and 3pm to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
The setup is incredibly homey – plenty of long, wooden benches in a little nook of a space that feels inviting from the moment you walk through the door. A carefully considered wine and beer selection calls to you from a classic chalkboard, and local meats, fruits, and cheeses are available for all your snacking needs.
Formerly from Alembic in the Upper Haight, Angel Davis has spent the last year pumping heart and soul into her Hayes Valley pride and joy. The hard work shows; the space can boast of being perhaps the most gorgeous little hole-in-the-wall in our neighborhood. Angel's discipline, experience, and creativity shine through the bar's simple design.
Fig & Thistle features no television, no mixology, and no pretentiousness in the air, making it the perfect place to meet an old friend for an after-work drink. Neatly tucked just behind all the heavy Hayes Valley foot traffic, we think it's more than worth the trip around the corner.
