A photo of the notice was quickly shared via Facebook and Twitter yesterday by members of the "Gezi Gardens" encampment, who claimed it was delivered to them by the SFPD. The notice reads:

"The City and County of San Francisco and its police department celebrate and protect the right of individuals to engage in free speech and of the right to assemble. However, this encampment is in violation of the law. For those involved in the encampment at the parcel of land located and bordered by Laguna, Oak, Octavia, and Fell Streets, you're in violation of one or more of the following local ordinances or state laws.We haven't been able to confirm with police whether the eviction notice is authentic yet, but according to the website of Build Inc. (the company that's co-developing a future condo project for the site), construction "is slated to begin in mid 2013." We've also heard more specific reports that the condo project will begin on June 17th. If they aren't cleared from the site, protestors are planning to host a day-long festival there tomorrow starting at noon, featuring live music, speakers, and workshops. Finally, here's a video recorded by one visitor to the encampment last night: We'll update with any additional developments.Accordingly, you are being asked to vacate this area and take your personal belongings with you. Refusal to comply and / or obstruction of our efforts may result in your arrest. The City's Homeless Outreach Team will provide, for those who wish, support for shelter. The Department of Public Works will store your property if you do not have the means to take it with you."
