The weekend has arrived, thankfully. If you're looking for something to do, we've got a few local events for your calendar.
Here's what's up.
Tonight, Rare Device (600 Divis) hosts the opening reception for "Instant NOUN : person place thing," a collection of polaroids by more than a dozen artists. The reception runs from 6pm to 8pm, and the exhibit will be on display through July 2.
Also tonight, if you're looking for something to eat, Vinyl (359 Divis) will be hosting PizzaHacker. The pizza-slingers usually pop up at Vinyl on Thursdays, but they're now adding Friday night service, starting tonight at 6:30pm.
Also tonight, it's the monthly First Fridays event at Nickies (466 Haight). Enjoy tunes by DJs Dion Decibels and The Whooligan, spinning "danceable musicals" from 10pm to 2am. It's 21+ and there's no cover.
Tomorrow, D-Structure (520 Haight) does some spring cleaning with a Company Garage Sale. There'll be old retail displays, mannequins, furniture, clothing, and more available, plus free lemonade. That's 10am to 4pm Saturday at the shop.
Finally, for a true spectacle on Sunday, venture up the hill for the 36th annual Haight Ashbury Street Fair. From 11am to 5:30pm, the Upper Haight will be packed with live music, art, crafts, food, and tens of thousands of spectators. Be sure to wear a flower in your hair or whatever.
Anything else going on this weekend that we should know about? Let us know in the comments.
