Lower Haight Weekend Planner
It's Friday afternoon, so we're going to go ahead and declare that the weekend has arrived. Here's a handful of events to keep you busy for the next few days.

Tonight, DSF (520 Haight) hosts the latest edition of American Tripps Berlin-style ping pong. You should know how this goes by now. Tonight's event will feature DJ Hyperballoyd "who promises a nonstop barrage of heart-pounding dance music." It's $5 at the door, and kicks off at 8pm.
Also tonight, Push The Feeling returns to Underground SF (424 Haight). Epicsauce DJs and YR SKULL are joined by DJ Edit Murphy and Oakland's Glenn Jackson for tonight's lineup. It's 21+ and $6 at the door, but you can save a buck if you buy online, and get in for free if you arrive before 10pm. The event runs from 9pm to 2am.
There's lots of sporting action this weekend for your viewing pleasure. On Saturday, Danny Coyle's will be showing UFC fighting, while Mad Dog airs a slew of international soccer matches. On Sunday it's game five of the NBA Finals, and the Giants have a series against the Braves all weekend long -- all of which will no doubt be playing at bars throughout the neighborhood.
Speaking of sports, Uppercasing reminds us that the San Francisco Marathon will be running through the neighborhood on Sunday. Haight will be closed between Laguna and Stanyan for most of the morning, Muni lines will be rerouted, and opportunities to drive across Haight will be limited. Basically steer clear of the area, unless you're a spectator. Or a runner -- in which case, good luck.
And finally, peeking ahead to Monday (because all weekends should be long weekends), Maven will be hosting a St. George's Spirit Dinner. It's a four-course meal with salad, soup, trout and short ribs, each paired with a cocktail created by bar manager Kate Bolton. That's Monday night from 6pm to 11:30pm at Maven (598 Haight).
