The SF Appeal reported first that police have shut down streets in the Castro because of a suspicious package reported around 1:30PM. The package was reportedly discovered on the 2000 block of 15th Street, which conflicts with eye-witness reports that the police were investigating at Chase Bank (2112 15th Street) in the Castro. The area was cordoned off, Officer Albie Esparza said. The SFPD bomb squad was on site to investigate.
The incident has disrupted service on San Francisco Municipal Railway’s F-Market line, Muni officials said.
