AtmosQueer, a free community networking social
The San Francisco LGBTQ community is awash with opportunities to get involved, help others, and to socialize in ways that don't involve the bar, such as sports leagues, political clubs, choruses, etc. Sometimes trying to find the extracurricular activity that matches your interests and passions can be a bit difficult.

If this sounds familiar to you, today is your lucky day. ConNexus, an LGBT organization focused on fostering connections and community, will be hosting AtmosQueer from 1-5PM at the Noe and Market Center (2284 Market Street -- the old Tower Records location).
Sponsored in part by BRIDGEMEN (you may have seen their ads in the MUNI stations) and the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, AtmosQueer is a festival meant to engage the members of the San Francisco LGBTQ community with groups that resonate with their interests.
The event is providing music, food, drinks, and door prizes to help people get into the mix. Organizations that are attending that will be looking for new members include:

ConNexus's mission statement:
To promote healthy and productive living and relationships by providing the SF LGBT and LGBT friendly demographic with constructive outlets through the facilitation of connecting individuals and local community organizations, groups and events; thus positively impacting both ends of the spectrum.
AtmosQueer is a first of it's kind event in San Francisco, and the first event ConNexus is hosting. The members of ConNexus have strong ties to the community and volunteer for many of the participating groups.
“AtmosQueer is a celebration of community and connection. We want everyone in the San Francisco LGBT community to feel a part of something and are hosting this event to allow people to get involved and explore new interests,” explained Michael Wilson, AtmosQueer Program Leader. “Whether you are new to San Francisco, want to give back to the community, or just try something new, AtmosQueer is the perfect event for you."
