Police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing elderly man who may be in the Lower Haight.
Eugene Smith was last seen on Monday night on Larch Street in the Fillmore District. Police say Smith is "believed to possibly be in the area of Steiner and Waller Streets." Smith, who suffers from Alzheimer's Disease, is 80 years old, and approximately 5'5" and 137 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black Giants shirt and black pajama pants. If you see him, you're asked to call 911 or the SFPD's Operations Center at 415-553-1071. Update 11:40am: SFPD Inspector Anne MacKenzie has just informed us that Smith has been found. No word on his condition or location, but good news regardless.
