Oak & Scott Laundry No Longer Terrible

Oak & Scott Laundry No Longer Terrible
A year ago, we declared it the worst place in the world. Today, we can happily revoke that title.

Yes, Oak & Scott Laundry, at 991 Oak Street just east of Scott, is no longer the worst. After months of renovation, the laundromat has reopened with plenty of improvements. The 13 mostly top-loading washing machines (8 of which were broken on our last visit) have been replaced by 13 new front-loading models. Previously there were 10 dryers on the back wall, but now there are 12, moved more conveniently to the wall opposite the washers. Finally, the space has gotten a much-needed paint job, and its facade has been cleaned up from its previously dire state:
Don't get us wrong -- this place won't be winning our "Best Place in the World" award any time soon. It's still just your basic laundromat. But at least now it's a functional one.
