It's been a few weeks, so it's time to share some recent highlights and lowlights from our local crime scene.

These reports come directly from the SFPD unless otherwise indicated. Working backwards chronologically since our last report...
Around 2am on July 5th, a 30-year-old woman was robbed near the intersection of Steiner and Waller. Two suspects, a man and woman about 20 years old, approached the victim and pulled her hair. A struggle ensued as the suspects tried to steal the woman's phone. She was able to mace them, but dropped her phone in the process. The muggers recovered it and fled on foot.
On July 3rd, a 31-year-old man was shot near the intersection of Hayes and Webster. Hayeswire reports that the man was walking in the area when he was "shot several times by an unknown suspect." The victim suffered life-threatening injuries; no suspect or motive has been reported.
Slightly to our northwest, at Fulton and Baker, a 21-year-old white woman was robbed just before 2am on June 28th. Three suspects -- two black males and a black female, all aged 18 to 22 -- approached the victim and demanded her belongings. One of the male suspects indicated he "had a handgun in his sleeve." The victim complied and handed over her purse and smartphone. The suspects then fled on foot.
On June 21st, Reader Josh D. reported a home robbery on Broderick between Haight and Waller between 9am and 10am. His white Marin bike and Apple laptop were stolen. Neighbor Kevin T. witnessed two black youths acting suspiciously outside the house. One had entered the house through a half-open bathroom window, while the other acted as a lookout. Both then fled via a getaway car. Kevin called the police, who arrived quickly, though not in time to catch the crooks. They advised keeping an eye on your block and knowing your neighbors -- definitely a helpful tip.
A 28-year-old man was pushed to the ground and robbed near Steiner and Germania on June 18th around 11:15pm. The suspect, described as a black male in his 20s, demanded the victim's valuables. The victim gave his cell phone, and the suspect fled in a beige vehicle.
And finally, a 22-year-old Asian woman was robbed while riding Muni at 2:20pm on June 18th. The victim was sitting in the back of the bus as it drove near Haight and Laguna when a suspect, described as a black male in his 40s, demanded money. When she didn't reply, the man when into her purse and took money, then fled the bus. The victim reported the incident to the bus driver.
If you have information about any of these incidents, you can call the SFPD's anonymous tip lines. For crimes east of Steiner, call Northern Station (415-885-5187). West of Steiner, call Park Station (415-731-2865). On Steiner itself... well... try either. Otherwise, stay safe out there.
