Castro Community on Patrol via the BAR reports that two of the group responsible for the robbery and vicious assault on a young woman post Pink Saturday thats enraged the neighborhood and the City have been arrested. According to SFPD two suspects are being held for trial in the crime that took place outside of The Mint Karaoke Lounge and Bar at 1942 Market Street where one cowardly and vicious suspect kicked a female victim in the head when she was on the ground around 1:30AM on June 30th. Johnay Davis, 20 and Julian Willams, 22, both of Oakland, are in custody awaiting trial. Both have been charged with two counts of second-degree robbery, attempted second-degree robbery, and causing great bodily injury stemming from another incident that came to light post video footage going public. It seems these two were part of a group of at least five people who robbed and assaulted Pink Saturday revelers up and down Market Street after the popular annual event ended. All the charges, according to police, came from eye witness accounts of the multiple incidents the group took part in including the one widely circulated online that was caught on camera . Ms. Davis, and Mr. Williams were identified and taken into custody just days after Pink Saturday and arraigned July 3. Their bail was set at $175,000 apiece. They have been remanded until their trial and are due back in court at the end of the month on July 30th. The main culprit, pictured above, remains at large. It's unclear whether these two defendants will help identify him or not-so far they haven't. The accompanying video is violent and disturbing if you are squeamish you might want to forgo the experience. Take a look at the picture one more time and the video. Perhaps something will jog your memory. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17WD2FrQZ3g&feature=player_embedded Finding those responsible is a community wide effort. Witnesses must come forward as well as victims to help the police apprehend suspects and the DA to prosecute culprits. To stem the tide of crime in the Castro it's going to take a village as the saying goes. Thanks to all parties involved who've helped so far.
