We have an update on the big changes being planned for Kate's Kitchen, including clarifications about the hours, the menu, and yes, the name.
On Saturday, we got word that the restaurant at 471 Haight would be getting a serious makeover. Now we have some extra details to share, straight from new co-owner Tom Martinez. Tom tells us the name of the restaurant will remain "Kate's Kitchen" during daytime hours, but will become "Chaparral" Thursdays from 6pm to 11pm, and Fridays and Saturdays from 6pm to 2am. The menu will change every week, depending on what's available at the market. It will have five sections:

- Sharing - dishes "perfect for two or as an individual app" ($9-15)
- Appetizing Raw - "cured, crudo, tartare, salad, fermented, culture, fresh cheese, aged cheese. Things of that nature". ($10-15)
- Appetizing Warm/Hot - these would be more substantial apps, including grilled items and soups ($8-15)
- "Non Belly Busting Entrees" - the name says it all ($15-22)
- Desserts ($6-8)
