Want to write about Hayes Valley? Or the Tenderloin, or SoMa, or Mid-Market, or Western Addition, or the Fillmore, or wherever it is you happen to live, work, or play?

Our blog family, which currently consists of Hayeswire, Haighteration, and Uppercasing, is looking to grow, and we need to find new writers in new neighborhoods to make it happen. As Haighteration put it a few days ago:
We're looking for folks around the city who want to help cover their own respective necks of the woods. If you think you might be interested, please first ask yourself the following questions:
  • Am I a good writer?
  • Am I reliable?
  • Do I love my neighborhood, or at least know it well?
  • Do I have a healthy curiosity about the world around me?
  • Do I have a little free time?
If the answers to these questions are yes, then we want to hear from you. Just send an email to write [at] haighteration {{dot}} com, telling us:
  • Where you live (nearest cross streets would be fine)
  • What neighborhood(s) you’d like to cover, and why
  • What writing and/or journalism experience you have, if any
  • What topics most interest you
Your role could range from an infrequent contributor to a daily editor, and yes there could be compensation involved — but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. First, we just want to know a little bit about you. So send us your answers by this Sunday, August 11th, and we’ll take it from there.
If that sounds like you, just shoot them an email by tomorrow night. And if you know any talented writers who might fit the bill, please spread the word!
